Beijing Opera
Beijing opera is our national opera.It came into being after 1790 and has about 200 years of history.There are four main roles in Beijing opera:Sheng,Dan,Jing and Chou.
It's music and singing come from Xipi and Erhuang in Anhui and Hubei.It is full of famous stories,beautiful facial paintings,wonderful gestures and fighting.It is an important part of Chinese culture.
Beijing opera used to be popular with old people,young people didn't like it much.However,more and more young people,even some forigners,are becoming interested in it nowadays.
