Edison was born on February 11,1847.He grew up in the west of America.His father was a businessman.His mother was a teacher.When he was seven years old,his parents became poor.He was ill at that time .
He went to school at the age of eight.He only studied at school for three months.Because his teacher told him that he was too stupid to learn anything and asked him to leave school.His mother tought him.He was interested in Chemistry.

In 1879,he invented a light.He became very famous in the world.Then he invented many useful things.
Edison died on October 18,1931.He was 84 years old.I think he was a great scientist!
